This Week on Musicians Radio
|
Sometimes editors or producers or even myself get these great interviews and the dilemma is... what to edit out. It's really difficult in cases like this weeks show because there is something for everybody.
So much insight and information.
So, sometimes you just got to let it roll. Like last week's show with Mike Post, there is just too much there to cut it up short and make it fit into a tidy segment. So this weeks show again has just one guest. Here's why...
We all know that if you want to find out facts about people we have some great tools, Google, and Wikipedia for example. However, if you are a musician of note, you are listed in the All Music Guide. I quickly realized he has a distinction not shared by many. He is listed in both the Classical and Rap categories! These are strange bedfellows - Dr. Dre, Fifty Cent, Xzibit, Gwen Stefani and classical music. Few people have the focus to excel at everything they choose to do and before Mike caught fire in the rap world he was seriously considering a career in the orchestra.
This week, when I talk with Power Player Mike Elizondo Jr., we find out about his growing up in Los Angeles, his family, faith, hard work, playing in the orchestra and writing and producing songs like "In Da Club" for 50 Cent.
Keep those cards and letters coming. We just got some new interviews in from Allison Moorer and it looks like we'll be bringing you Mindy Smith and Tony Brown real soon. The Roland people have been great about putting us in their newsletter so go ahead and return the favor by clicking that link right over >>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>> here. Also, the publishers of American Songwriter magazine are helping to spread the word about Musicians Radio. American Songwriter is a magazine that focuses on the craft of songwriting. They have a great compilation CD, as well as lyric and songwriting contests. They bring insight to all styles of music so of course it was a perfect match for Musicians Radio! Now as you know our new time is 5 PM pacific 8 PM eastern on XM satellite radio. The channel is 133 XMPR. Also, you know you can find our podcasts and even subscribe to them at iTunes.

And one last thing, I know last weeks show featured
Mike Post, and this weeks show features Mike Elizondo Jr. so - if you
forward this newsletter to a friend, I promise you next weeks show will
have no one named Mike. Deal? Have a great week. Peace, Kevin
