This Week on Musicians Radio
Things are heating up...

We are just finishing rehearsals for an Australia / New Zealand tour.  I'll be going down there around Thanksgiving.  I'm looking forward to it.  Spring will be turning into summer and I haven't been there in a few years.  Plus, I'm going with a great bunch of musicians that will insure that the work is anything but work.  Enough about me.

Let's talk about John Densmore...

This week on Musicians Radio my guest is John Densmore. You know, the drummer for The Doors,  author, and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member.

John is finally getting around to leading his own Jazz ensemble. He calls it "Tribal Jazz" and knowing John's drumming style - equal parts rock, jazz and bossa nova - this is something he should have been doing a long time ago.  We'll be talking about Tribal Jazz, Iranian music, a gracious meeting with Elvin Jones and, of course, a question or two about that band he was in.  Tune in  -- John is a great guy with a lot to say.

The show airs this Sunday on XM channel 133 at 5 pm pacific / 8 pm eastern.

You know the drill...

Currently at the www.musiciansradio.com you can
hear my interview with Lowen and Navarro.

Next week we'll get the gospel according to Michelle Shocked and more.

Another thing I am excited about is on Tuesday I am going to Soho in Santa Barbara to hear ukelele phenom Jake Shimabukuro.  Jake is an incredible musician.  In fact, in a couple of weeks we'll have an interview with Jake and some of his music which is bound change forever anything you think you know about the ukelele.

A little help please. Use the forwarding link at the bottom of this newsletter and forward this to some friends. Help us grow.

Also, thanks to Russ and Julie Paris for getting the word out on the Lowen and Navarro podcast.  We appreciate it.

Thanks and have a great week.

Peace,

Kevin McCormick
