This Week on Musicians Radio
I'm on the road...  City of lights? Rome, London, Sao Paulo?
Reading, Pennsylvania!
Ever wonder what it's like in Reading?
 Just rent "The Deer Hunter."
What to do  between sound check and gig?
Hmmmmmm.

Perhaps it's a good time to write a newsletter about this weeks show... or maybe two newsletters.

This week on Musicians Radio

In 1996, Taj Mahal made a record called "Phantom Blues".  The band that played on that record, and subsequently toured behind it, was so good and had such a good time they decided to keep going as The Phantom Blues Band.

This week on Musicians Radio I sit down to talk with a key member of this all star band - guitarist and singer Johnny Lee Schell. When Johnny Lee was a kid in Texas one of his first recording sessions was with Buddy Holly producer, Norman Petty, in Clovis New Mexico.

We'll cover that as well as his gigs with Ron Wood, Ian Mclagan, Bonnie Raitt, John Fogerty and Taj Mahal  Also, we'll get some insight on how he records The Phantom blues Band complete with horns and a B3 "live" in his home studio.

Then... In need of some good advice? We'll go Behind The Scenes with composer Mike Post, songwriter Brett Dennen and Sabine from Brazilian Girls for our first ever segment on "advice".  I wish I'd gotten some of this when I was younger.  Come to think of it... I probably did. Now, however,  I'm smart enough to listen.

Click on this pretty blue link to check out some cool Roland products. They are, after all, the ones who bring you the show each week.

In addition, we've started partnering with "American Songwriter" magazine.  Look for our ad in their magazine in which they do a great job of covering the ins and outs of songwriting  Check out their website here.

As you know our new time is 5 PM pacific 8 PM eastern on XM satellite radio.  The channel is 133 XMPR.  Also, you know you can find and subscribe to our podcasts at iTunes.

Finally, use the clever link at the bottom of this page to forward our newsletter to your friends.

Have a great week.

Peace,
Kevin
