This Week on Musicians Radio
Oo-koo-lay-lay

This Sunday on Musicians Radio my guest is Jake Shimabukuro.  More than just a master of the Ukelele, Jake is changing everyone's perception of the four stringed, two octave instrument.  Born in Honolulu, Jake started playing at the age of four and has taken it to a whole new level.  Besides working with other instrumental giants like Bela Fleck, scoring films, and playing to adoring crowds on solo tours, Jake can also be found touring with Jimmy Buffet.  Oh... and his influences are Jeff Beck and Bruce Lee.

That's this Sunday on XM - channel 133 at 5pm pacific, 8pm eastern. Of course you can also find it at www.musiciansradio.com.

You can access our whole archive there and sign up for our Newsletter.
Also, while you are there click on the page we call the MR List.  It's a list of things we like. Things we have or wish we had. Good music, books, etc.  Sometimes if you buy something from the list it helps us at MR.  If you buy something from Amazon or Busted Tees, it's good for us.  Sometimes it's just things we think people should know about like
the book "Recording The Beatle.

I interviewed the authors, Brian Kehew and Kevin Ryan, for next week's show.  I have to tell you that this book is over 500 pages of facts, anecdotes, diagrams, stories and pictures of the Beatles that you won't believe.  If you are a musician, Beatles fan, or recording enthusiast (or all of the above) go to their website www.recordingthebeatles.com and have a look.

This is the best gift I could think of giving or receiving.
And another reason to check out the MR List page?

Black Friday...

Don't go out there.
You thought Black Friday was a Steely Dan song about the crash of '29?  Guess again.  It's a term used for the madness that follows Thanksgiving day. It's a day that  certain economists use as a bellwether to predict our economic outlook... The shopping malls are packed, you may not make it out of the parking lot alive.  Instead, stay in. Listen to some Musicians Radio shows as you do your Christmas shopping at the MR List.
Safe, sound, and serene...

You can still catch up on this weeks feature on Michelle Shocked or the previous show with John Densmore of The Doors.  And since you've already signed up for our newsletter, get a jump-start on the season of giving and send one to a friend with the "forward to a friend" link at the bottom of this page and pass on the word about our show.  In fact, we are growing so if you have been forwarding this, thanks very much.

As you read this I'll be on my way to New Zealand.  I'm heading down under for a quick tour of Australia / NZ.  If you know of any music I should be checking out drop an email to info@musiciansradio.com

Thanks and have a great week,

Peace,

Kevin
