This Week on Musicians Radio
I went to my first house concert the other day.  I am now converted.  A warm summer night in Southern California. A hillside backyard with the lights of Los Angeles emerging from below as the sun set.  Then the music of Lowen and Navarro began.  They went through two sets of songs that spanned their partneship of more than 20 years.  With Phil Parlapiano on keyboards and Kenny Edwards helping out on guitar and vocals, it was a great night of music in a wonderful setting.  Now I get the house concert thing - No Ticketmaster, no middlemen, just music and fans.

I want to mention that the host of this event is a friend of Musicians Radio and has given us a lot of help.  She also has a "specialty" sauce company that you should check out HereSpecial thanks to her for helping, hosting and of course, the sauce.

Needless to say we will be doing a Lowen and Navarro interview when they return from the east coast.

On to Business...

Right now at iTunes you can download last weeks show.
Just go to podcasts -> musicians radio show #37 -> get

That's how you can hear the XM broadcast of last weeks show.  In case you missed it:

I go On The Record with Daniel Bernard Roumain or DBR.  He has a new record out called Etudes4violin&electronix.

Here is a young violinist/composer who blends elements from all backgrounds to break down musical stereotypes and barriers.  Guests on his record include Phillip Glass, Ryuichi Sakamoto, and DJ Spooky.

Then, from the Mercy Lounge in Nashville, Musicians Radio contributor Allison Moorer talks with singer songwriter Greg Trooper.

Yes, his music has been to outer space.... seriously.

And coming up this Sunday on XMPR channel 133 at 5 pm pacific, 8 pm eastern it's Musicians Radio featuring my interview with drummer Steve Ferrone.

More than just the drummer for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers,  Steve has played on more hits and classic records  than most people have in their collections. Beginning with Brian Auger's Oblivion Express,  through The Average White Band, Eric Clapton, and the Stone Temple Pilots.  It's one of those interviews when you have a great time cueing the music that goes along with it. Check it out.
